In Illinois, parents are working together with specially trained staff to create greater possibilities for children and families in their communities. Local Interagency Councils (LIC's) have been established throughout Illinois. Their main goal is identifying and improving Early Intervention Services within the community and making them accessible to young children and their families.

Members Include:
•Parents
•Early Intervention Programs 0-3
•Early Childhood Programs 3-5
•Health Care Professionals
•School Representatives
•And various services organizations

Our L.I.C's 5 and 31 serve Madison, Monroe and St. Clair Counties. If you are not residing in these counties, please access this document or visit The Early Interventions Home to determine the Child and Family Connections which serves your county and call your local Child and Family Connections to out more about your Local Interagency Council.

Meetings are held quarterly on the third Tuesday of September, November, February, and May from 10AM to Noon and location to be announced.

The LICs' meeting rotates through our four county area. The LICs have a speaker from the region where we are meeting or sponsor training at each meeting. Often refreshments are served. Please join us!

We feature a parent speaker and an agency or school speaker at each meeting. Light refreshments are served.

Tuesday, February 21st at University of Illinois Meeting Room (next to Monroe County Health Dept.) in Monroe County 10:00AM-Noon. Special Roundtable to share information and resources. Come share your expertise and find out what is new.
